LAS VEGAS — The healing power of stories is being featured at the inaugural What’s Your Story event on Friday, Oct.14 and Saturday, Oct. 15 at the Ahern Hotel. Featured presenters include people who have overcome traumatic and adverse situations to achieve their dreams and passion.
What’s Your Story founders Missy Day and Michelle Hausbeck are holding the event to inspire hope and encouragement to others. “All of us go through trials in order for us to grow and become who we’re meant to be,” they said. “Our stories matter; but more importantly, we go through these situations so we can help others move through theirs and know they’re not alone. What’s Your Story will be inspirational, empowering, and fun.”
Speakers, including Gary Miracle, Dean Smith, Jeff Barnes, Briell Decker, and Enzo Perez, will share their stories detailing how they persevered through loss of a loved one, trauma, illness, murder, abuse or addiction.
The Oct. 14 event is a meet-and-greet from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. where attendees can meet the speakers and other participants. On Oct. 15, the What’s Your Story program schedule is: registration and continental breakfast, 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.; speakers, 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.; lunch, 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.; speakers and workshop, 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.; and last speaker and closing remarks, 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Ticket prices are $197 per person and $985 for a table of 8. Appetizers and non-alcoholic drinks on Friday and breakfast and lunch on Saturday are included in the ticket price.
First responders, nurses, teachers, and military personnel can use code WYSTIX for a $99 per person ticket and WYSTABLE for a $700 table of eight. They must show identification at event registration.
A portion of event proceeds will benefit Hoving Home, a nonprofit organization that helps women, who have experienced trauma and tragedy, heal and rebuild their lives.
