Michael and Coral Toren are up before the sun, but it's not always because of their 2-year-old.

They have the added responsibility of six chickens, three sheep, and a donkey.

Building a ranch was one of the promises this couple made to each other when they tied the knot.

"We went through some really traumatic experiences as soon as we got married and it hadn't let up for a few years, so I had dealt with a lot of PTSD and mental health issues that stemmed from that," said Coral Toren, founder of Clover Haven Ranch.

They started bringing Clover Haven Ranch to life last year.

They decided on the name because the Chillicothe couple lives on Cloverdale Road and the ranch has been a safe haven for them.

Now this couple is sharing their story with you in hopes to start a conversation and healing for anyone struggling with mental health.

"I think ultimately the animals do bring a sense of peace to you that you just can't get anywhere else," said Michael Toren, founder of Clover Haven Ranch.

The couples advice for those struggling?

"You've always got the opportunity to change your circumstances. Here I came from the suburbs of Chicago, I'm certainly now pretty much a country boy and so you never know what the future is going to hold, so don't lose that hope," said Michael Toren.

Over time they want to expand the ranch, whether where they are now or on a larger area of land.
